Owl's and Pie's

Hey guys!
And yes I can finally say guys! I now have 6 followers! Thank you everyone! Hopefully it will keep growing and growing! Sorry I did not write anything last night I hardly slept the night before and then decided to make some green chili stew and it wasn't even ready till about 10:00! So I had every intention of blogging about it but I was so exhausted I fell asleep! I have not loaded my pictures yet of it but I will do that tomorrow and put them up on here with a recipe.

Well I can't believe it is only Wednesday! I keep thinking that it is Thursday for some reason! I really wish it was! I want it to be the weekend! Especially because I get Monday off from work! I have been looking at trying to find a job working somewhere that does weddings and events and am even thinking about applying places that do baking and cupcakes. But we will see if that happens, fingers crossed!

On the review of whatever I have watched front I watched Letters to Juliet last night, I had seen it before but I still love it! I am not sure why the girl is with her fiance in the first place because he is just selfish and doesn't care about her at all, but the other guy in the movie is definitely very cute! It is a cute feel good movie and I definitely needed one of those! I am stressed out! I feel like our apartment is going to collapse on me at any minute there is so much stuff everyone! And that is mainly because we have no where to put all of our stuff! Our lease is up at the end of March and I really would like to move to a rental house or something, but that is not looking like it is going to happen :-(. Adam and I have also started watching You're Cut Off, well the old season apparently, and it is kind of funny and then just sad that people let their children get that way!

On the workout front on Sunday I ran a whole half mile without stopping I was so proud! I am halfway to my goal of a mile by the 20th! If I keep it up then maybe I will make it! Then I didn't work out Monday or Tuesday and felt not good about it. So today after work I went and ran and I got up to .55 without stopping so I am .05 more than last time! Then I speed walked for about 20 miles and finished up a whole mile with walking .20 and running .80! I am pretty proud. I need to make myself do sit-ups after this blog!

So tonight I thought I would share some pictures of some "pie" and "owl" cupcakes I made a little while back with my friend Katie! Here they are hope you enjoy!
We did not take very many getting them cooked pictures so this is all I got. I thought the pies actually turned out pretty good. We used Cocoa to dye our icing to the crust color of a pie and then used M&M's as the pie filling so to me it looks like I have a chocolate, cherry, apple, blueberry, orange and banana pie ha ha I know not all of those are very appealing sounding. For the owls my eyes did not turn out as I had planned, my book told me to heat the Oreo's in the microwave for a few seconds so the cream would come off on one side well when I even did for a few seconds it just melted so I just decided to do it without doing that but it didn't work too well. The nose is a yellow M&M and the pupils are M&M's as well. They were supposed to have ears but I got to frustrated he he! But I think you can still tell what they are :-).

Anyway so that is my update for the night I might try and clean something before I go to bed so I don't go insane! Goodnight all!

Oh Monday...Monday....Monday

Hello Kristin,
You are still my only reader :-(. Hopefully one day I will have more than one! Anyway tonight's post is going to be short because I am ready to go to bed!

Exciting news.........we put our deposit down for the DJ so that is all settled that relieves a little bit of stress!  also got my glasses taken care of and hopefully the new ones will fit me so much better so yet again a tiny bit of stress is taken off. No stress taken off is more wedding planning, sending out save the dates, and cleaning the house it is a pit and I can hardly stand it! We don't have enough room for everything unfortunately, especially my baking stuff!

Speaking of baking stuff here are some pictures of the Mickey Mouse cake I made my mother for her birthday. I even made the icing from scratch and colored it myself! :-) I was soooo proud of my first cake and soooo very proud of my icing job anyhoo here it is!
Here I am with my Mickey Cake!

Well those are all the pictures I have right now! More to come!

Sorry this is such a short post, work was pretty stressful today and had to make lots of appointments and meetings so that was a little stressing. Hopefully tomorrow will be a less stressful day, although I need to clean something or I will never be able to relax. I also did not get my workout in tonight so I am upset about that a little bit.

Oh on the review front I watched the first show of The Cape and let me just say I was less than impressed! I was hoping for something so much more! I watched all two hours of it and it did not get any better. It was the same situation over and over he would try and fight and would get hurt and some girl would come save him and then poof all over again! Although the guy is an attractive actor so that might save the show and the girl was I am sure attractive to men but to me I need more substance to the show.

Well goodnight all!

Finally One With Pictures!

Hey there! It is time for another blog! I am on a roll now 2 in a row :-). Workout is falling behind again hoping this next week I can get back on track. Not sure I am going to make my running a mile by the 20th but we shall see! It is a busy week with lots to do so fingers crossed. On my Bachelor watching last night I now have my two favorites and I am thinking one makes it to the end, but I don't think he picks her! Yes okay I looked at the spoilers and somehow they always seem to be right!

Trip down memory lane my mom and I watched Miracle on 34th Street last night, we always watch it at Christmas. Of course we watched it on VHS and towards the end I realized hey we had bought this on DVD! Hopefully next year I will remember. Adam does not like this movie because he thinks the little girl is creepy, but I disagree. I also watched part of Passport to Paris, which yes is a Mary Kate and Ashley movie, but it was my favorite of theirs when I was growing up. Let's just say I watched it about 16 times in a row! I loved it back then. Now watching it is a pretty silly movie but oh well! Tonight is the first episode of The Cape and I am pretty excited, I know it seems like a weird TV Batman, but I think it is going to be great!

So here are my new years cupcakes that I made which turned out pretty good I must say, at least I think.
Here is the material I used:
I found candy melts that had sprinkles in them so they would work for my "New Years Ball" instead of having to ice little lights onto them all separately.
I found these super cute cupcake liners and decided on a black and white theme!
Then I found these awesome black and white, cookies& creme crunch sprinkles!
Here are all my supplies together, including the donuts for my "New Years Ball" unfortunately I could not find smaller ones :-(
Here is my handy cupcake pourer, as I call it, you pour the batter in and then you hold it over the cupcake liners/pan and pull back the handle and it goes right in! So handy! They can
be found at Bed, Bath & Beyond!
Here they are all ready to bake :-)
Here are my "New Year Balls" they are kinda huge cause I could not find smaller donut holes and did not have time to make them like little cake pops as I had hoped.
I have now found my signature way to ice my cupcakes here it is :-)
I think it looks like a rose!
Here they are with the yummy sprinkles!
And then here is the final product with the "New Years Ball" added, but they were a little heavy so I had to take them out before delivering them to my parents and Adam's grandparents.
I think they turned out pretty good if you ask me!

Anyway! So that was my first picture blog and my first posting of my cupcakes! More to come! Hope you all enjoyed :-). Hopefully one day they will be featured on Cup Cakes Take The Cake! Heres to hoping! I would just be happy with more followers :-) hint hint! Adios for now!

Hey Guys! (Or I should say Kristin!),
Hope everyone's weekend is going well, I decided to write in the center today :-).
Well so I got behind on my blogging sorry about that!
Had a couple of hectic days. Today we met with some DJ's and it is stressful deciding!
We thought we had decided, but then something came up and we were given some information that completely changed out idea...so back to the drawing board on DJ's. We have
and idea of what other one we want, but I can't get ahold of them and since we have a June wedding of course everything is getting booked up!
I have some meetings with a florist lined up but no idea on what type of flowers I want!
Any suggestions?!
Then we still need to decide on a cake baker and of course what to make the cake like!
Time is just ticking by and I am starting to freak out!

So on a little side note I am being a complete nerd and have the first episode of the new bachelor on!
It is kind of hard to watch cause so far it is just him saying waa waa I didn't find someone
I got panic attacks I have had three years of therapy and soul searching.
But, yet here I am watching it, don't ask me why but I am.
I always hate when you see how mean the girls are and then he just keeps them around so far I like Ashley H. Just from seeing their little bios ha ha.
And now there is one who works at a morgue that is so creepy lol.

So I am sad that I didn't get to bake today with Kristin from Delightfully Dowling! But I hope next week we can! I am needing some time to bake!
Last night went with Katie, Keenan and Adam to Jinja, which I had been really excited about
but it was a let down it was expensive and nothing exciting. PF Chang's is so much better!
It is sad because Katie is going back to college in a week! I don't want her
to leave!

So I keep meaning to post some pictures, but I do promise I will soon! I also
have decided I need to expand my cooking so I am going to pick some recipes out of my cook books I have (which is two!) a Rachel Ray cookbook from Kristin :-) and a big pink one that I can't remember the name that I got from Bed, Bath & Beyond.
However none of them have a recipe for Green Chili Stew! However, Kristin gave me one that I am going to use :-).
Well, I am going to go watch a movie and do some wedding stuff! Signing off
for now will write more tomorrow and hopefully have some pictures!

The Quick Blog

Hey All,
Sorry I didn't update last night ran out of time! We were working on our save the date cards! We are almost there thank goodness! My working out is not happening yet again! Grr! I definitely need to tonight. We had an interview with a DJ on Monday night and it went really well, but man DJs are so expensive! We have another meeting with one tonight so we will see how that one goes!

I got a slow cooker for Christmas and am very excited to use it! When I can figure out what I want to cook first! I was looking through my two cookbooks I own (how sad I need more!) And neither of them have a recipie for green chili stew! When I was looking through them I realized how much I want to try cooking stuff! Then I realized how expensive it would be :-(.

I have begun to contimplate what I want to do schooling wise. Law school is not as appealing anymore because I see how it can affect people and consume their lives and I don't want that. I have also thought about going back to get my masters or phd in history, but then what would I do with it?! I mean I could teach but dunno where, I could do research but not sure that make a living, I would love to be a museum curator but we don't have the Smithsonian here :(, I could be an archaeologist but then have to get grants and travel away from family a lot. Then there is event/wedding planning, but that is a lot of stress. Then there is baking I love baking! I would love to open up my own bakery, but that takes money I don't have, but all bakeries start somewhere right?! So on that note I have thought about going to cooking school. Not sure if I would just go for baking or do everything. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Well guess better get back to it! I will write more later!

Monday, Monday, Monday

Hello All,
Already on day 3 of the new year! It is hard to believe! We have a meeting today with  a DJ for the wedding, it is the first one we have had. I looked over my list of what should have already been done for the wedding and ya we are pretty far behind! But hopefully we can get our buts in gear and get going on it. Saturday evening I got to spend it with one of my Maid Of Honors and we had a blast! We went out to eat at Applebee's which is where we always try to go because we love their nachos. However, since they changed them they are not as good, but we did not get to have them this time because they were out of the chili for the "Chili" nachos. The waiter asked us if we still wanted them and I was thinking you mean chips with white queso (not even the good kind) and jalapenos and lettuce no thanks! On top of that they had the UFC fight on I guess it was a "big one" or something I don't know all the same to me just silly men hitting each other. Of course they had it on the loud speaker and it was very annoying and of course the one TV that was farthest away from us had the OU game on and I would have rather watched it. We really could not figure out the point of the UFC fight they just kind of roll around on top of each other and in between each others legs. One fight hardly lasted at all and the other they just rolled around doing nothing so I have yet to see the appeal. It was just like 2 oiled up men who think they are the shit rubbing up against one another. Now I had a funny idea, when they are in leg locks and one is on bottom what would happen if he just stuck a finger up the others guys butt or you know poked it to surprise him and then the guy on top would probably get off of him. Yes yes it is gross but come on! Also, why not when one is not expecting it to depants him I mean these are some serious elements of surprise here! I think they could learn from me ;-).

After we had our dinner we went to rent a movie we ended up getting Vampires Suck because Easy A was not where our RedBox was. It was actually not a bad movie since it was one of those silly spoof movies. We actually enjoyed it. The girl that they had playing Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) did a great job of making fun of her! It was amazing! The guy that played Edward (Robert Pattenson) was so much cuter than Robert Pattenson. I am sorry I like the Twilight series, but I like the books, they are so much better. And let me tell you the Edward in my mind is nothing like this Edward, my Edward is more Ryan Reynolds type of Edward. I mean even Dr. Cullen is better looking than Edward in the movie. I mean if I were Bella in the books I would pick Edwards hands down, in the movies Jacob all the way I mean do you see those abs?! Also, I am sorry but can Kristen Stewart show any emotion in the Twilight movies. I mean her I love you's and you left me I am so sad have the same emotion...none!!!! She just can't act. If they could recast Edward and Bella for better people it would make the movies so much better!

After watching that movie we decided for some fourth meal tacos and then decided to find a RedBox that had Easy A. Yes I had already watched it but I liked it enough to watch it again. After we watched it and ate our tacos we had a couple of drinks, we had a shot of rum with some coke to follow it (so a quick version of a rum and coke :-D) and then we had a white russian, which I LOVE! I am really good at making them too! Then we discussed some ideas for the bachelorette party! We want to get corsets and then I want the wedding party to all have ties that have what they are (ie. Bride (me), Maid of Honor, Brides Maid) written on them in puff paint and then we want to wear those glittery black top hat things and we weren't sure on the bottom yet. We also want a night where we are wearing little black dresses, of course that would mean that I have to find me one! I can't believe I am 23 and I don't have a little black dress! Of course I just can't find one or the ones I like are too expensive. Anyway then one of my other BM had an idea of us being the 7 deadly sins for the bachelorette party which I thought was pretty cool idea too! Let me explain how we can have so many themes, well we are going to Vegas about 2 weeks before the wedding so we will have a couple of nights there and then we are having a smaller one on the Thursday before the wedding so my other MOH who lives in Tulsa can go to it since she can't make it to the Vegas one. I am very excited for them all!

On the workout front I have done not so bad. I did not work out Saturday night but last night I went running on the treadmill. I am getting better I can now do .10 walking to warm up then I did .30 running pretty fast and then would walk .10 again and then run another .30 till I hit a mile. I am determined to get myself up to running without stopping for a mile and then continue to work up till there. My goal for this is by January 18-20th that way it is about 5 months before the wedding. Tonight I am going to try and do some sit ups, butt workouts, legs, arms, and yoga. Our house is a pit though from being gone for xmas and suitcases are everywhere! Plus we have no food in the fridge!

I finished Water For Elephants and was pleasantly surprised with the ending and surprised how much I actually enjoyed reading a non-vampire/fantasy book. I am now trying to finish my Sookie Stackhouse book, Definitely Dead and also trying to read Brisinger the 3rd book in the Inheritance Series which I had started like 2 years ago. It is such a huge book that I never read it because I have to lug it around. I can't decide what book to buy next on my Kindle because I want to buy all the Sookie books since I have been and plus I don't have a lot of money. I wish the Kindle had a library! However, I have heard that you can download ebooks from your library and upload them to the Kindle so I am going to try that.

On the cupcake business, my parents told me my New Year's cupcakes were the best yet! I am so excited! I love my new signature icing style it reminds me of a rose! I have thought of a name, but am not sure it is available so I am not going to mention it yet! Wish me luck though! Whoever you are that is reading this! I think someone has been looking at my page but I am not sure! If you have been reading you should follow or post a comment so I know your out there and I can give you a shout out! Thanks for reading!

The New Year Has Arrived

Hello readers (whoever you are) hope everyone had a great new years! We opened presents last night because we were not in town for Christmas. It was a lot of fun got some new scrapbook stuff and a new suitcase and more. I had been doing pretty good on my workout I ran a mile on Thursday, but I didn't do anything yesterday so I need to get back on it.

My wedding dress has arrived for the second time, there were mistakes on the first one. In fact a lot for it to be a brand new dress, so fingers crossed that this one is better! Set up two meetings with DJs now to set up the flowers and cake trying. Still need to get out save the dates out we would have had them out if VistaPrint had not lost our magnets then we would have been done with this. But for some reason they did the option where they send by UPS then deliver to post office and then they deliver to us well it would help it they put our address and not address it to the post office only.

We watched the A-Team last night and I really enjoy it. I love Murdock! And I love Liam Neeson! If you havent't seen it you should! I made some New Years cupcakes last night and found out my signature swirl I am going to use all the time! They were chocolate fudge with vanilla and cream cheese frosting with cookies and creams sprinkles and I covered a donut hole with melted sprinkled candy vanilla as the new years ball. They turned out pretty good!

Well off to play cranium with the fiances family!
